Our story

Built in Assam.
Built for India.

BolJaw started with one simple question: why do people drive alone when others need to go the same way? The answer became a platform — free, open, and built for everyone on every road in India.

Our mission

Make shared travel the default choice — not the expensive one.

Transport in India is broken at the last mile. Buses are slow, taxis are expensive, and millions of cars make the same journeys every day — half empty. BolJaw exists to close that gap, without charging anyone a rupee for it.

The problem was obvious.
The solution was simple.

Across Assam — and across India — people drive the same roads every day. The Guwahati-Jorhat highway. The Dibrugarh bypass. City commutes where one person per car is the norm, not the exception. Millions of empty seats move from A to B, while others wait hours for a bus.

The ride-sharing apps that existed were built around profit — platform cuts, surge pricing, driver commissions. For someone who just wants to split a fuel cost with a stranger going the same way, the existing options were either overkill or non-existent.

BolJaw was built to solve exactly that: a platform where a driver going from Jorhat to Guwahati can offer their two spare seats to passengers — no booking fees, no commission, no middleman. Just people sharing a road they were already driving.

The name "BolJaw" comes from the Assamese spirit of community — bol (speak up) and jaw (go forward). Say something. Go somewhere. Together.

"Why does a car with four empty seats drive past someone waiting at a bus stop for two hours?"

— The question that started BolJaw

Buses are slow

A journey that takes 1 hour by car often takes 3+ hours by bus, with stops, delays, and unpredictable schedules.

Taxis are expensive

Cab aggregators charge surge prices and platform commissions. A daily commute becomes an unaffordable expense.

Cars run half-empty

The same routes are driven daily by hundreds of cars, each carrying one person — a massive, daily waste of fuel, time, and road capacity.

He is the founder of Protim, a digital studio operating across Jorhat, Guwahati, and Delhi — specialising in Android development, Flutter apps, and custom digital solutions for businesses across India. Protim's products include Orzyy (vehicle QR safety), Hohay (community emergency alerts), and now BolJaw.

Manab saw the transport problem firsthand — commuting routes in Assam that cars drive daily, half-empty, while people wait for unreliable buses. He built the solution he wanted to use himself.

What we stand for

Our values

Radically free

No booking fees. No commissions. No subscription. BolJaw is free because transport should not be a luxury — and it will stay that way.

Community first

Every ride is a relationship between two people. We build tools that support trust, not extract from it. The community is the product.

Better for the planet

Every shared ride is one fewer car on the road. Fewer cars mean less fuel burned, less congestion, less pollution — one trip at a time.

Safety by design

Verified profiles, visible ratings, and transparent reviews. You always know who you're riding with — before you step in the car.

Built for India

BolJaw was designed around Indian roads, Indian distances, and Indian realities — not adapted from a foreign product that doesn't understand the context.

Simple and fast

Post a ride in 60 seconds. Find one in less. No unnecessary steps, no bloated onboarding. The app gets out of the way and lets you travel.
